Hi! I'm Didi and the book that I will be reviewing today is; 'More to the Story' by Hena Khan.
Summary
This book is told from the perspective of Jameela Mirza. As the book goes on, Jameela experiences many challenges and managed to overcome all of them. First, she gets onto the newspaper staff but... the editor in chief shoots down all her ideas and writes boring columns. She has to find a way to stand up for herself without getting into trouble. Second, her dad (Baba) is going overseas for a work contract. He is leaving for six months and Jameela and her sisters (Maryam, Bisma, and Aleeza) are devastated. Third, she has a crush on her new friend but risks losing his friendship because of a gigantic mistake she made. Fourth, she has to deal with microaggressions. Last but not least, Bisma (Jameela's 11 year old little sister) gets a serious illness, and Jameela wants to do everything that she can to help her. I won't spoil the ending so you can read the book too.

I really enjoyed this book because it had multiple elements and didn't have just one problem but multiple ones and I got to experience how Jameela solved all of them. This was a very touching book that brought me to happy tears at the end. I could tell how much Jameela loved her sisters and her parents a lot. She is a role model who follows her parents rules, and enjoys helping people. She is really passionate about what she believes in. I liked how brave she is and how Jameela uses the newspaper to try and end microaggressions at her school. I also loved that she does everything she can to help Bisma get through her illness.

I wish that I could have learned more about Ali's family. Other than that, it was a great book!
