Hi everyone!👋🏾 Didi here and today I will be reviewing the book "Prisoner of Ice and Snow" by Ruth Lauren.

Summary

Valor's twin sister, Sasha, is in prison for stealing from the Royal family. Valor's family has been exiled in disgrace but Valor has a plan. She fakes a crime and is sent to the prison for criminal children, planning to use the opportunity to break her sister out of jail. Never mind that no one has escaped the prison in over 300 years. Valor is convinced she is smarter than most people and is sure she can do it. But things get a little complicated as Valor starts bonding with some other prisoners. Can Valor escape with Sasha, or will they end up with a faith worse than life in prison?

Likes

This book was fast paced and exciting! The excitement in the story kept me reading and I couldn't put the book down. Valor and Sasha's love for each other was very heart-warming and realistic. The narration was outstanding! Even though the story was in third person, I still felt every emotion. I cried when character's where sad, laughed when they were happy, and felt fear when they were frightened. The story was so fascinating and I can't wait to read book two!

Dislikes

I felt like there were too many characters and I got confused keeping track of who was who throughout the story. I also got confused at some of the plot twists because they could have been explained better. There were also too many plot twists, in my opinion anyway. It got confusing at some point.

Overall

This book was very good with a few minor flaws. I would rate it an 8/10 and definitely recommend it to readers who are interested in reading a book that is a combination of Frozen and a prison break adventure. Hope this review helped you to pick a book for your next exciting read!
